Our Generosity Policy
The Boston Shambhala Center remains open due entirely to the generosity of its Friends, Members, and program participants. It is our sincere wish that no one be prevented from participating in programs at the Boston Shambhala Center due to financial considerations. As a result we have adopted a pay-what-you-can policy as an option for people being introduced to our community and those who are committed to supporting the Shambhala Center.
All of our introductory programs are offered on a pay-what-you-can basis. For non-introductory programs if you are able to support the Shambhala Center with a monthly donation of at least $10 a month ($120 a year, less than one weekend program) as either a Friend or Member then you can access our pay-what-you-can system. This means that for the year you are a Friend or Member you can attend all the programs you wish for whatever amount you can afford to pay. The monthly income from you enables us to have an overall reliable picture of our annual revenue and allows you incredible flexibility in what you pay for programs.
Your generosity allows us to be so generous with our program prices, thank you!
If one is not able to pay the minimum monthly contribution please contact us and we will be happy to accommodate your specific situation to make our programs affordable for you. We refuse to turn anyone away from our programs due to financial obstacles.
In addition we offer work-study options. For more information please contact us.
