This weekend workshop, led by Acharya Emily Bower, a senior teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition, introduces the teachings of enlightened leadership. With the great problems now facing human society, it seems increasingly important to find simple ways to bring compassionate and strong leadership to the world, even in small ways. This weekend emphasizes genuine confidence and steadfastness in facing the worlds challenges.
Program Prerequisites: Completion of the entire Way of Shambhala program, or completion of Sacred Path through Outrageous/Inscrutable.
All Sacred path graduates - join us for this first offering of Rigden in Boston!
Schedule: Friday evening 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Please plan on arriving around 6:30 to take care of registration and settle as we will begin sitting at 7:00.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., then dinner out locally together. We will then return to the center for a viewing of the "Realizing Confidence - Making of the Primordial Rigden Thanka" video at 7:30 with discussion until approximately 8:30. Please do your best to stay thru the video viewing. It is a great explanation of the thanka and a chance to hear the Sakyong speak about it.
Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
Acharya Emily Bower has studied closely with Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche since 1991. She served as his editor for several years, helping with his book Turning the Mind into an Ally along with many poems and practice texts. She is a professional book editor, currently working at Shambhala Publications. Acharya Bower is a frequent teacher at the Boston Shambhala Center.
